Program Details

Kent State University offers an online Master of Technology degree program.  The degree program is designed to build on the already learned foundations from a Bachelors program, by expanding on the core competencies in engineering, sustainability and technology.  The flexibility of the online curriculum gives professional students the opportunity to earn a valuable degree while still fulfilling current obligations.  The astute student will be able to combine the learned virtual academia experience when applying technology to emerging techniques and procedures.

The core courses solidify a student’s understanding of ethics in technology and the environment, project management, quantitative methods and research methods.  The student will choose either a thesis or non-thesis graduation option.

A thesis is recommended for students who wish to pursue research and development career opportunities.  It allows a student to acquire an in-depth knowledge of essential technical areas of a particular interest.  Those students choosing a thesis will complete a thesis course as one of the electives.  The non-thesis option is recommended for students wishing to obtain a more general education of advanced technology theories.

Graduates will use the advanced technology education when entering career fields in industries of aeronautics, aviation, computer engineering, systems manufacturing, quality control and sustainable environmental systems.
