Program Details

The online Master of Arts in Translation is a foreign language degree from Kent State University.  This program provides a strong foundation in the principles and practices of translation, helping you gain the skills needed to succeed in your career.  The languages available to choose from are:

• Arabic
• French
• German
• Japanese
• Russian
• Spanish

The curriculum features the same industry-relevant courses as found in the on-campus program while expanding on the students’ skillsets and knowledge.  You will learn research-informed best practices through coursework based on principles and understanding of translation processes.  Students take courses that include specialized translation practice, localization, editing, terminology and CAT tools, project management, and intercultural communication in the language industry.
