Fast Track Masters in Evaluation and Measurement
Kent State University offers an online degree in Evaluation and Measurement, preparing educators with the key essentials when making a difference in children's lives. The goal of the professional development and outreach program is to provide student teachers with high quality academic skills and opportunities in the form of credit-earning workshops and off/on campus courses.
The Evaluation and Assessment program is a specialized area of study in the everyday life of each classroom teacher. The key elements when understanding how to interpret standardized test scores to creating authentic assessments in the classroom, are just a few of the core focuses of the Master’s program. Knowing and understanding the current realm of assessment methods will increase a student teachers skill as well as serve as the foundation when entering career opportunities.
Most of the courses focus on the essential topics of evidence-based research, data driven decision making, and the skills to use data for assessment evaluations in order to improve instruction and student learning. The additional required coursework introduces students to the contemporary topics of differentiated instruction, standards-based education, and action research. The new teaching topics parallel realities of Ohio student teachers.
Graduates of the Fast-track Master’s program will build on the already learned knowledge of each student teachers subject area, professional practice and advanced pedagogy in classroom skills. A successful graduate will contribute a well-defined personal skill necessary for inpidual and professional successes.
