Program Details

The Kennebec Valley Community College offers an online psychology degree, the Certificate in Mental Health Rehabilitation.  This program meets the needs of students who either already have a degree or want to focus on the core classes required to receive their certification at the Mental Health Rehabilitation Technical/Community (MHRT/C) level.  You will gain the knowledge and skills to work with individuals with prolonged, persuasive, and persistent mental illness.  This includes such areas as substance abuse, mental health rehabilitation, developmental disability services, and gerontology.  Courses are comprised on the core classes required for certification.  Courses may include: 

• Community Mental Health 
• Interviewing and Counseling 
• Crisis Identification and Intervention 
• Psychosocial Rehabilitation
• Substance Abuse
