Program Details

The Associate in Applied Science in Mental Health is an online psychology degree program that prepares students for entry level and higher positions in the workforce.  This program provides students with the core competencies needed for certification at the Mental Health Rehabilitation Technical/Community (MHRT/C) level.  You will gain the knowledge and skills needed to work with individuals with prolonged, persuasive, and persistent mental illness.  This includes areas such as:

  • Substance Abuse 
  • Mental Health Rehabilitation 
  • Developmental Disability Services
  • Gerontology  

The curriculum includes the core Mental Health course requirements for certification and general education courses.  Graduates are prepared for positions in the mental health field including Community Integration, Intensive Case Management, Assertive Community Treatment, Skills Development, and Day Support Services.
