Kaskaskia College is a two-year public college located in the rural town of Centralia, Illinois. Kaskaskia is the oldest community college in the state of Illinois, being founded in 1965 as the first junior college established after the states created the Public Junior College Law allowing residents in a given area the ability to vote to establish a junior college. The school offers certificate programs and associate’s degree programs. Many students complete their associate’s degree here in order to transfer to a four-year school to earn their bachelor’s degree or higher. Distance learning opportunities are available at Kaskaskia College, in which several degrees may be earned totally online.
