Program Details

Medical assistants work directly with patients and assist in their care and well-being. If you’re interested in pursuing opportunities in this rewarding profession, Kaplan University’s Certificate in Medical Assistant program can help you develop relevant skills and gain real-world experience. Students gain the clinical and administrative knowledge to seek various entry-level positions in the field.

The certificate offers a comprehensive curriculum combined with hands-on, industry related medical equipment training. In the classes, you’ll study how to assist the supervising physician with various tasks such as administering injections, taking vital signs, recording EKGs, assisting in minor surgical procedures, carrying out basic accounting procedures, and understanding the fundamentals of charting and documentation. You’ll also complete a practicum where you’ll apply your classroom learnings in a real-world setting.

Graduates of the program may be eligible to take the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam offered by the American Medical Technologists.
