Kaplan University is recognized by the U.S. Fire Administration as an official Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) institution. The Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science program closely follows the FESHE curriculum model and is designed to provide students with foundational skills in firefighter safety, building codes, fire prevention, code inspection, and firefighting strategy and tactics. Students completing the program could seek employment as firefighters, fire inspectors, and fire investigators, among other positions.* Faculty members bring years of experience in the fire science field, and courses are taught online giving students the flexibility to study on their schedule.
