The MS in Data Analytics and Policy prepares you to use analytics to tackle policy challenges in the public and private sector. Develop expertise in analytical methods relied upon by government agencies, nonprofit organizations, research institutions, and more. Blending analytical methods with substantive issues in policy, our program develops students to be leaders in the data revolution.
Specialize in one of four areas to meet your career goals: statistical analysis, geospatial analysis, public management, and political behavior and policy analysis.
This program is offered primarily online, although some electives are offered at the Johns Hopkins Washington, DC Center. Available in both a full-time and part-time capacity, you can complete the program in as little as one year. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in research analysis, technical writing, budget analysis, social science, and more.
The master’s degree consists of 12 courses designed to teach skills in statistics, programming, data visualization, and communication. Upon graduation, you will be ready to apply theories of social science to data challenges and evaluate programs, policies, and initiatives using evidence-based assessments. You’ll also be prepared to develop and present data analyses that answer research questions relating to politics and policy.
