School Details

John Wood Community College was named after John Wood, the man, an early pioneer who played a key role in the settlement and development of West Central Illinois. He was born in New York but came west seeking adventure. In 1821 he came to what is now Pike County. Today the college is a 2-year, public institution offering academic programs that lead to transfer degrees, technical degrees or certificates. Online learning at John Wood Community College uses the anytime, anywhere power of the Internet to deliver classes where and when it is convenient for you. Students can earn accredited associate’s degrees fully online. The Canvas Learning Management System is used for assignments.

Membership in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement allows out-of-state students from fellow NC-SARA participating states to complete online and hybrid coursework and programs at John Wood Community College.

Assessments for academic Credit for Prior Learning are evaluated individually to ensure a student’s specialties are compared to other students’ experiences.
