Program Details

The Chemical Dependency Certificate program is an online substance abuse counseling degree program from Jefferson Community College.  This program was specifically designed for working professionals in the field.  You must have relevant experience in the chemical rehabilitation capacity or have a degree at the associate’s level or higher in a closely related field to enter this program.  The curriculum provides skills in communication, counseling, decision-making, and problem-solving along with other helping skills.  Students will learn the basics of individual and group counseling, about chemical dependency, and about treatments.  Graduates will be prepared to act with the professionalism and ethics effective treatment and this field require.
