Jefferson College was founded when several Jefferson County citizens began to recognize the need for a public junior college in their community. On April 2, 1963, Jefferson was the second junior college district in Missouri to be approved. Classes began the next year.
The College offers associate's degrees and several career and technical education certificates, many of which can be earned at least partly online.
