Program Details

The online Master of Science in Health Informatics program provides students with the tools needed to help make health care facilities more efficient and secure and to help patients access their information more easily.  The curriculum teaches students how to collect, interpret, and use medical information to assess care, conduct vital research, and identify trends while working within the privacy and security requirements of HIPAA and the HITECH Act.  Graduates are prepared to take on positions that combine a deep knowledge of computer science and health sciences, becoming Health Informatics Directors, Consultants, Informatics Specialists, IT Project Managers, and Electronic Medical Record Keepers, among other high-level IT and health care jobs.
