Program Details

The online Master of Science in Education Administration and Supervision program is designed for students seeking careers in administration and supervision, providing them with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions used in schools to increase educator effectiveness and produce positive learning results for all students.  The curriculum introduces theory, research, and effective leadership practices that are related to educational organization, leadership and ethical behavior, leadership strategies, the roles of leadership, and the social, political, economic, and legal context of schools.  Coursework also covers negotiation skills, human resources within educational organizations, communication skills and maintaining open communication between the school and the community, and preparing schools for diversity and cultural understanding.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • An overall GPA of 3.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) on   the bachelor's degree
  • Recommendations from three persons, one of whom must be the applicant's supervising principal or school district superintendent or assistant superintendent
  • Acceptable evidence of the applicant's writing ability as determined by a writing sample completed under the supervision of the screening committee
  • An interview 
  • A recommendation for admission by the screening committee
