Program Details

The online Early Childhood Education Career Studies Certificate program is designed to provide the basic skills needed in the care and development of young children in a variety of child care settings.  This program is appropriate for those entering the field of early childhood education, and also trains those presently working in the field who wish to upgrade their skills.  Career opportunities include child care center assistant directors, teachers or assistant teachers, aides, playroom attendants, camp directors, and day care workers, as well as in hospital-based child care programs or pre-school at-risk programs.  Courses include:

  • Introduction to Early Childhood Education
  • Introduction to Reading Methods
  • Infant and Toddler Programs
  • Guiding the Behavior of Children
  • Early Childhood Programs, School, and Social Change

Requirements

  • Have high school diploma or the equivalent, OR
  • Are at least 18 years of age or older and can benefit academically from taking courses at Reynolds
