Program Details

The online Early Childhood Development Certificate program is designed to prepare students to work with young children from birth to age eight in a variety of settings without needing further education.  Students may also become qualified to work with children up to the age of twelve in programs that serve before- and after-school and recreational programs.  The curriculum teaches skills related to the care, supervision, education, and development of young children.  Possible employment opportunities include child care center directors, assistant directors, teachers, or assistant teachers, aides, playroom attendants, camp directors, and daycare workers, as well as positions in hospital-based child care programs, pre-school at-risk programs, and church-sponsored programs.
