Certificate in Healthcare Office Specialist
InterCoast Colleges

Program Details

The online Certificate in Healthcare Office Specialist program prepares students to become respected health-care professionals who cooperate effectively with patients and medical-industry personnel in friendly, non-competitive environments.  The curriculum teaches students to share their decision-making expertise with patients, understand and process medical information in a timely manner, and demonstrate proficiency in administrative duties often with little or no supervision in doctors’ offices, clinics, hospitals, or other healthcare facilities.  Courses also provide understanding of the workings of the human body, teach students how to streamline patient care from the initial scheduling process, help them become proficient in organizational methods geared to facilitate various clerical duties, and teach students how to effectively handle billing and coding for insurance purposes.
