Program Overview

Indiana University offers the online Master of Science in Education in Instructional Systems Technology. This degree studies the ways people acquire, process, and share information in order to create the most effective learning environments and instructional tools. It is a discipline that focuses on ways to improve learning and performance for students of all ages and in a wide range of settings. 

The program includes core courses in instructional technology foundations, instructional design and development, the instructional development and production process, and evaluation and change in the instructional development process.

A degree in instructional systems technology has applications not just in educational settings, but also in corporations, government, military, and nonprofit organizations. Graduates are prepared to solve instructional problems and tackle human performance issues, from training factory workers to use new equipment, to developing a change management plan for introducing new management practices in a global company.
