Program Details

Instructing adults is radically different from educating school-aged children or young adults. The Master of Arts in Adult and Community Education program provides you with the specific skills you need to reach this population. This online adult education degree is designed for instructors in continuing education institutions, professional development trainers, and others who teach adults.

The curriculum focuses on skills in instructional design, staff development, program evaluation, and community education development. Graduates will be prepared to work in businesses and organizations planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating programs for adults. The curriculum teaches adult and community learning concepts, theories, and practices; educational program design, implementation, and evaluation; strategies for creating and sustaining learning organizations; and interaction of educational, social, political, and economic systems within communities.
