The online Bachelor of Science in Emergency Response Management programs is designed for those seeking careers protecting life and property while ensuring the most complete disaster recovery possible. The curriculum prepares students to work in a variety of agencies and organizations, teaching them emergency planning, mitigation, response, recovery, and prevention, so they are able to identify and define areas of emergency management responsibility including training, warning, evacuation, sheltering, damage assessment, debris removal, donation and volunteer management, public information, and federal assistance and recovery programs. Graduates are able to apply emergency management processes and methodologies including hazard identification, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessment; explain effective approaches to prevention, planning, responding, and recovery; explain the techniques involved with mass disasters and preemption of terrorism; and budget and manage grant applications.
