Program Details

The online Master of Science in Biology program can either be a terminal degree that prepares students for careers in healthcare, biochemistry, biotechnology, patent law, genetics, or other fields, or can be used as preparation for a doctorate or other professional degree.  Students can choose either the thesis or non-thesis option.  The thesis option is designed for those planning careers as experimental biologists in academia, government, or industry, including those who wish to pursue doctorates; the non-thesis option is intended to meet the needs of science administrators, policy makers in the life sciences, patent attorneys, and others.  Students can choose to specialize in:

  • Applied Life Sciences
  • Cell and Molecular Biology
  • Computational Biology
  • Microbiology

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) or higher
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
