Program Details

The Associate in Applied Science in Computer Programming from Hinds Community College is an online software development degree.  This two year program is designed especially for those planning on entering the workforce immediately after completion but can also be used to transfer into a four-year program at a college or university.  Regardless of future plans, this degree prepares you for entry-level employment and advancement in computer programming and systems analysis.  You will complete courses in design, coding, and testing of software applications using various programming languages including Java and C++.  Course topics also include database manipulation, hardware maintenance, and operating system functions.  Students can choose from programming and technical electives.
