Program Details

The online Certificate in Teaching Assistant program from Genesee Community College prepares both current and prospective teacher aides and assistants to work with students from prekindergarten through high school. Graduates of the program are able to:

• Apply critical reading and thinking skills required to be an effective paraprofessional within the field of education
• Employ proficient written and verbal communication skills, including the appropriate use of technology
• Compare the roles and responsibilities of the teacher and paraprofessional and apply ethical standards within the field of education
