Program Details

The Associate in Applied Science in Human Services is an online human services degree from Herkimer County Community College.  This degree program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in the human services field.  You will be prepared to work as a case manager, social work assistant, family advocate, residential counselor, or classroom assistant.  The curriculum teaches students about normal developmental trends throughout the life span, helps them recognize deviations from the normal development, explains the social systems that impact human behavior, and teaches the Ethical Standard of Human Service Professionals.  You will learn to communicate effectively with various populations, accurately document case records, and identify community services that are available to assist your clients.
