Greenville College was founded in 1892 by the Free Methodist Church with the intent to provide a distinctive, Christ-centered college education for men and women. The college's first president, Wilson T. Hogue, used the motto "education for character" to describe the college's purpose. Its mission 125 years later—empowering students for lives of character and service—echoes that purpose.
Greenville College provides a quality liberal arts education with over 50 undergraduate majors as well as adult and graduate programs available online or at partnership locations. Several bachelor's and master's degrees are offered fully online or 90% online in the areas of business, education, and professional studies.
