Master of Science in Environmental Studies

Program Details

Green Mountain College offers an online Master of Science in Environmental Studies degree. The program is designed for working professionals who are looking for further expertise on environmental issues to help advance their careers. Students will learn knowledge to be able to work in communities or laboratories and make a difference in the environmental field.

Students choose between three concentrations:

  • Conservation biology
  • Writing and communication
  • Self-design

Requirements

This program has an optional yet highly recommended residency per year.

  • Official Transcripts Transcripts Must Demonstrate the Conferral of a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Current Resume or C.V
  • Essay
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Applicants should have a minimum undergraduate or cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Applicants should have approximately two years of applicable experience to connect the course material to its application in the real world
  • Applicants to the MSES program’s conservation biology track are expected to have previously studied undergraduate
  • or graduate level: biology, ecology, chemistry, and statistics
