Master of Education in Elementary Education & Special Education (Not Initial Teacher Licensure)
Grand Canyon University

Program Details

The online MEd in Elementary Education and Special Education also offers a Not Initial Teacher Licensure Track to the working adult student. This program prepares you for teaching roles in settings where a teaching license is not required, in K-8 and K-12 special education areas. There is no student teaching component to this program, which negates it as a licensure track. Your elementary education degree online will incorporate topics such as:

  • Literacy development
  • Teaching methodologies
  • Instructional planning

Faculty bring real-world expertise to the virtual classroom, where you will expand your skills in planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of student learning. Take advantage of a program providing observational and practice-based field experiences in elementary and K-12 special education settings. Become adept in classroom management, advance your ability to support students with special needs through educational planning, and expand your autonomy in non-licensure careers with Grand Canyon University online.
