The Master of Science in Professional Counseling with an Emphasis in Trauma program is designed for students interested in becoming professional counselors. It prepares students to understand, assess, and treat developmental, childhood, and adulthood trauma-related disorders. This program offers students an exhaustive study of human behavior and trauma-informed care. The program meets the academic requirements established by the National Board for Certified Counselors. Students are provided with comprehensive training to achieve national certification and licensure in Arizona as a counselor. Graduates of this degree program may apply for state licensure, after passing the state-mandated testing, and be prepared for a career in behavioral health, counseling, health services management, human services, government, and law enforcement.
