The Master of Science in Project and Systems Management is designed to prepare students and current working professionals for careers as a system or project manager within the many different IT and business work settings. The program is intended for those that are interested in careers that integrate technology with the field of systems and project management. The program’s courses can be completed entirely online. Golden Gate University also offers campus-based courses for this program on the San Francisco campus.
Students will receive instruction and experience within different areas of project management, operations processes, and technology systems. Students will strengthen business management skills that emphasize the integration of information technology within many different business areas. The curriculum will also enhance skills such as communication, leadership, problem solving, planning, budgeting, and scheduling. In addition, students will also gain experience in implementing IT system design, outsourcing, contract negotiations, and compliance issues.
In order to graduate, students will need to complete a total of 39 semester units. The 39 units consist of nine Foundation Program and 30 Advanced Program units. The 30 Advanced Program units are further divided into 12 Core Course and 18 Concentration Units. Some Advanced Program courses are Managing Information Technology, Managing Innovation & Technology, and Project Management.
Students may also choose a concentration they would like to pursue within the program. The two concentrations are Information Technology and Project Management.
The Information Technology Concentration will strengthen student’s skills in areas such as database maintenance, technology integration with business practice, and administration information technology. In addition, students will also gain hands on experience with the latest hardware and software within the field.
The Project Management concentration is designed to cover various topics within the field of project management. Students will learn real-life and applicable project management skills that will help to prepare for future careers.

With just four students, Golden Gate University began evening classes in 1901 in San Francisco. Today, it maintains three added campus locations, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and Seattle, along with an online program fueled by “cutting edge course content” and “real world and real time” instructors that bring exdivertise to the classroom. This private nonprofit university targets undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in “law, taxation, business and related professions.” Today, the university hosts thousands of online students across the globe in forty plus countries. Limited class sizes provide a “seminar-style” atmosphere with asynchronous discussions. Golden Gate offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a myriad of disciplines. These degrees also are available for online students with the exception of Psychology, Law, and cohort programs.
