Golden Gate University provides a Graduate Certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications program that is designed to prepare students for careers within the marketing communications field. The certificate program is constructed with graduate level courses that will teach students to design, create and implement coordinated solutions to problems within various marketing organizations. The curriculum will also cover topics such as sponsorships, sales promotions, advertising strategies and direct marketing. The university’s instructors are experienced professionals that can provide real-world knowledge, theory and practice within the classroom. All of the programs courses will be provided on the San Francisco campus.
Students will need to complete 18 semester units in order to receive the certificate. The six courses that will be offered within the program are Marketing Management, Integrated Marketing Communications, Sales Promotion/Sponsorship, Direct & Database Marketing, Advertising Strategy, and Contemporary Public Relations. Some courses will require the student to complete prerequisites in order to enroll. These prerequisites may be fulfilled through approved transfer credit or course completion at Golden Gate University.
The program’s courses will cover a wide variety of subjects within the field of marketing. Courses will cover topics such as product pricing, customer behavior, demand analysis, marketing research, advertising, personal selling, public relations, Internet techniques and marketing tools. Students will also gain experience in areas such as planning events, designing pricing strategies, sponsorship development, and creating integrated communication plans.

With just four students, Golden Gate University began evening classes in 1901 in San Francisco. Today, it maintains three added campus locations, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles and Seattle, along with an online program fueled by “cutting edge course content” and “real world and real time” instructors that bring exdivertise to the classroom. This private nonprofit university targets undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in “law, taxation, business and related professions.” Today, the university hosts thousands of online students across the globe in forty plus countries. Limited class sizes provide a “seminar-style” atmosphere with asynchronous discussions. Golden Gate offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a myriad of disciplines. These degrees also are available for online students with the exception of Psychology, Law, and cohort programs.
