Graduate Certificate in Forensic Accounting
Golden Gate University offers a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Accounting program for students that are interested in earning the financial forensic certification. Courses within the program are designed to strengthen the skills and knowledge that is required for attorneys or accountants within many areas of the forensic field. Experts constructed the curriculum and selected the courses to ensure students receive a focused education. Courses will cover topics such as insolvency, bankruptcy, fraud investigations, valuation and lost profits. Additionally, the program’s courses also fulfill CPE and MCLE credit.
In order to graduate, students will need to complete a minimum of 15 units. The 15 units consists of two types of courses. Students will need to take nine Required Course Units and six Elective Units. The three Required Courses are Introduction to Financial Forensic Accounting, Fraud Auditing, and Damages. Some Electives are Forensic Accounting in Family Law, Forensic Valuation, Construction Claims, Intellectual Property, Expert Testimony, Allegations of Adult Failure, and Special Topics in Forensic Accounting. The program’s courses may have prerequisites that need to be completed before enrollment.
If a student is interested in traditional courses, Golden Gate University offers campus-based courses on the San Francisco campus. The cost for a three-unit course is $2,520.
