Graduate Certificate in Accounting
The Graduate Certificate in Accounting program may be completed entirely online. The program is for students that are interested in the careers within the field of accounting. Courses within the program are designed to prepare students for both the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examinations. The program also emphasizes delivering an education that strengthens skills and knowledge in order to advance career opportunities within the accounting field. The cost for a three unit course is $2,520.
Students will be required to complete a minimum of 15 units in order to receive the certificate. The program courses consists of five 300-level ACCTG courses. One School of Taxation course or one 300-level ITM course may be used to replace one of the five ACCTG course. If a student is interested in advancing their education, certificate courses may be applied to the Master of Accountancy degree requirements. Some 300-level ACCTG courses are Topics in Financial Accounting, Advanced Issues in Financial Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Issues in Modern Management Accounting, Federal Taxation, and Forensic Accounting in Family Law. The ACCTG courses may have prerequisites that will need to be completed before enrolling in the class.
If a student is interested in traditional courses, the program also offers campus-based classes on the San Francisco campus.
