Program Details

The online Master of Education in Reading, Language, and Literacy Education helps students improve skills in literacy processes and instruction for diverse populations.  Students can choose to concentrate on either Reading Instruction/Specialist or Teaching English as a Second Language.  The Reading Instruction/Specialist concentration prepares students to work as teachers of literacy with a focus on reading and provides instructional support to classroom teachers in grades PreK-12.  The Teaching English as a Second Language concentration provides advanced teacher preparation in ESOL for individuals interested in teaching English to speakers of other languages while addressing the needs of teachers who work with literacy learners from diverse cultures.
