Program Details

Georgia State University offers an Associate of Arts in Film & Media Studies, an online Journalism degree.  With film being one of the leading art forms currently, it is important that journalism students understand this medium and are aware of its impact culturally and artistically.  Students taking this journalism degree program will examine the analysis, history, theory, and critique of the film industry, helping them learn how art, business, and technology combine to create films expressing our current culture.  The curriculum covers the integration of art, technology, industry, politics, and culture while also teaching you about cinematography, lighting, music, and sound design.  Graduates are prepared to transition to the bachelor’s degree program at Georgia State University with this pathway degree advising them and helping them complete the required prerequisite courses.
