Program Details

The online Associate of Science in Homeland Security & Emergency Management program prepares students to continue their educations at four-year colleges or universities in order to find careers in a variety of settings and capacities, such as private businesses, emergency management, safety management, intelligence analysis, private security, airports, special agents, and more.  The curriculum introduces terrorism studies, homeland security law and policy, emergency management, intelligence and counter-intelligence, strategic planning, and risk analysis through a holistic approach.  You will learn about the various theories and agencies involved in Homeland Security and be able to evaluate its role within the state, federal, and local governments.  The Associate of Arts degree is more suitable for students continuing an education in Liberal Arts while the Associate of Science degree is geared towards studying the sciences and behavioral sciences.
