Georgetown University offers a Graduate Certificate in State and Local Taxation (SALT) that can be completed entirely online. The skills gained in this program are highly beneficial to organizations that are multi-state and multi-national taxpayers.
The SALT program is open to US and foreign-trained lawyers. Students can complete this certificate along with the Tax LLM degree or on its own. The program includes topics such as income and franchise taxes, sales and use taxes, and other business taxes. Students will also study federal limitations of state and local taxation and special topics in the field.
