Master of Education in Reading

Program Details

The online Master of Education in Reading program is for classroom teachers preparing for specialized work in diagnosing reading difficulties and improving reading instruction in their own classroom, or as reading specialists in schools at either the early childhood/elementary or the middle/high school levels.  Coursework has been designed to provide a broad base of understandings about successful reading methods, programs, and assessments, and also prepares individuals to successfully complete the Reading Specialist Exam.  The curriculum increases pedagogy, methodology, and cultural awareness related to instruction for reading specialization students in elementary or secondary schools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • A minimum 3.0 grade point average for the most recent 60 semester (90 quarter) hours completed. An explanation must accompany your admission materials if your GPA is below the 3.0 mark.
