The online Master of Arts in Theological Studies program is designed for those drawn to theological and biblical studies educations and who want to prepare for the PhD program. The curriculum is designed for students interested in academia rather than pastoral ministry and requires an internship in teaching. Students must also complete Greek, Hebrew, German, and Latin language study options and spiritual formation courses so they are prepared for future degree work in biblical and theological studies. You will also learn to analyze pertinent texts and materials, think critically, research, write, improve communication skills, and integrate these learnings while you learn key facts and paradigms related to biblical studies, church history, and theology.
The program allows you to choose from four specializations:
- Biblical Studies
- Christian History and Theology
- Creation Care
- Intercultural Studies
Students attend a three-day orientation in August and meet for one week each semester.
- Bachelor's degree
- Official transcripts
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Personal mission statement and statement of faith
- Three letters of reference
