Program Overview

Gateway Technical College offers an Associate in Business Management that consists of 69 total credit hours and may be completed in as little as two years. Having a business management degree may help graduates move beyond entry-level positions and advance to management positions. These advancements are possible due to the wide variety of knowledge that students will learn through this program regarding the fundamentals of business. A majority of courses for this program are instructed by professionals and may be taken through an online format. Students who do not wish to participate in distance learning may complete courses at the Elkhorn, Kenosha, and Racine Campuses.

Students will learn valuable information through coursework, case studies, service learning experiences, and internships. This provides students with the hands-on experience they need to be successful within management positions in the business field. Students may also have the opportunity to study abroad if they choose to do so. The study abroad experiences provide students with knowledge of business fundamentals from a foreign perspective. Students will gain skills in critical thinking, problem solving, computers, mathematics, job seeking, teamwork, leadership, and much more. Marketing, accounting, mathematics, psychology, law, economics, and management are a few of the many topics that are explored through this curriculum. Course topics that are covered ensure that students will be prepared to enter the workforce and hold management positions.

Graduates of this program may also decide to pursue a bachelor’s degree upon completion of this program. Students have the opportunity to transfer their earned credits to a four-year college or university to further advance their career opportunities in the management field.
