Program Details

The online Certificate in Dietetic Technician in Dietary Manager program provides a full and comprehensive overview of institution food service management, preparing students to work in health care environments under the supervision of registered dietitians.  The curriculum emphasizes facility design, menu planning, food procurement, inventory control, food safety principles, human resource and financial management, and food production.  

Graduates are able to:

  • Communicate and perform effectively as dietary managers to diverse populations
  • Demonstrate knowledge of management principles required to deliver food and nutrition services
  • Develop basic menus for conditions such as hypertension, obesity, and cardiac
  • Perform nutrition screenings for at-risk populations
  • Gather basic nutrition assessment information

Requirements

  • Official high school, GED, or Adult High School transcript
  • Official transcripts from any colleges/universities attended
  • Placement test may be required
