Program Details

Earning the formal academic education from a Bachelor of Arts program in Religious Studies from Gardner-Webb allows students to grow personally and professionally.  This program is designed as a degree completion program for students with previous college credit to apply towards the bachelors requirements.  Additionally, students are able to complete the required coursework through an innovative online learning format, working with flexible time constraints, family obligations and current careers.     

The Religious Studies degree prepares students for positions in churches or social agencies performing the critical roles and responsibilities of ministry, communication and guidance to individuals in need.  Some students may use the Bachelor of Arts degree as the foundation for further educational pursuits, earning teaching licenses, counseling licenses or seminary institutions.

Gardner-Webb emphasizes a Christian learning environment, believing in social justice, ethical decision-making and intellectual honesty. Graduates have the potential to become lifelong learners committed to a life of service with and for God and their local communities.


Minimum of 48 transferable hours from an accredited college. 2.0 GPA or higher. Program requires the completion of 128 credits, including transfer hours.
