Program Overview

The Associate of Science in Business with an emphasis in Business Administration degree offered by Fulton-Montgomery Community College is a program of study that is available to students in a completely online format. This program aims to prepare students to transfer to a four-year baccalaureate program in business. Students can tailor this degree according to the requirements of their intended transfer institutions. Students can also choose a particular field to emphasize their studies. These fields include: finance, marketing, business management, or business education.

Students who enroll in this program will receive a foundational education in both general studies and business. By the end of this program, a student should be able to demonstrate an integrated understanding of business administration through the acquisition of foundational skills in accounting, finance, economics, marketing, management, mathematics, statistics, and computer technology. Students will also gain effective oral and written communication skills, as well as skills in problem solving and decision-making. Students should also be able to convey a sound understanding of the social, political, legal, technological, and global influences on business and business issues.

Students enrolled in the Associate of Science in Business with an emphasis in Business Administration must complete a minimum of 62 credit hours of courses in order to graduate. This must include 30 semester hours of Liberal Arts and Sciences plus two physical education courses. Students must take courses in the following General Education subject areas: English, Social Sciences, Mathematics, Liberal Arts, Science, and Physical Education. The required Business Administration courses include: Financial Accounting, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Statistics, and Managerial Accounting.

    School Overview

    Fulton-Montgomery Community College was founded in 1963. The campus, located in borrowed facilities in Johnstown, moved to its permanent location for the 1968-69 academic year. Students who once majored in leather making and secretarial science are now majoring in one of 40 academic programs including liberal arts and sciences, business, electrical technology, media communication, nursing, and radiologic technology.

    Fulton-Montgomery Community College offers completely online associate’s degree programs. In addition to these completely online degrees FM also offers a number of online and blended classes.
