Front Range Community College offers an Associate of Arts in Business degree that is a transferable degree designed specifically for individuals who plan to continue into a 4-year program at a university or college and major in business. Those who are new to this field should strive to have both current and future professional needs met through aspects this program offers. Students may enter future professions in business, government, industry, and other economic organizations.
Some courses in which students will participate include Accounting Principles I and II, Introduction to Business, Legal Environment of Business, Business Communication and Report Writing, and Principles of Management. The required courses in this program cover basic business concepts and theories. These courses coupled with the General Education requirements aim to help students to build a foundational set of skills and knowledge related to the competencies of higher education and the field of business. Students work with their faculty advisors to build a course of study that best fits their personal interests and professional and educational needs.
Students must complete a total of 60 credit hours while in this exam. Certain general education courses must also be completed in order to better equip students for a professional environment. Students may gain important competencies in a wide variety of subject matters and hone their critical thinking skills and analysis. Students must take courses in the following subject areas: English, Mathematics, Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural or Physical Sciences. Students will also take 23 credit hours in business related courses.
