Program Details

The online Master of Education in Special Education program expands the individuals’ knowledge based in special education.  The curriculum develops professional expertise in a standards-based teaching environment that stresses accountability and excellence.  Coursework reviews best practices research while integrating current knowledge about technology, state and federal standards, multiple ways of learning, alternative assessment, reflective practice, and more.  
This program provides three tracks of study:

  • M.Ed. degree and teaching certification
  • M.Ed. only
  • Certification only

Requirements

  • Degree completion requires from 41-47 credits
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited college or university with a GPA of 2.8 or greater (4.0 scale)
  • Provisional acceptance for 2.5-2.79 GPA
  • Official transcripts from previously attended college(s)
  • Resume
  • Cover Letter
  • Goal statement
  • When applicable, SAT or ACT scores
  • Successful completion of Praxis Core or approved equivalent
