Masters of Arts in Pastoral Care

Program Details

Fordham University offers students a Master of Arts in Pastoral Care is designed to prepare those engaged in the work of ministry to be effective pastoral caregivers in their present and future ministries. A major goal is to provide students with the knowledge and skill set they need to understand the purpose of pastoral care and how to apply it in specific situation of ministry.


This progam requires completion of an on campus (offered as a summer intensive or 15 week semester long course) Pastoral Counseling Skills 3-credit hour course.

  • All who have a BA/BS degree may apply
  • All applicants are required to submit a personal statement
  • All applicants are required to submit a current Resume/CV
  • All applicants, except for those applying to attend a course as a visiting/non-matriculated student, are required to submit two Letters of Recommendation
  • All applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Official transcripts must be submitted
  • All applicants are required to complete an interview with either the dean, a GRE faculty member, or the director of admissions
