Program Details

The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology & Anthropology degree program is an online sociology degree and anthropology degree program from Florida International University.  This degree allows students to examine a range of contemporary social issues and develop strong research and analytical skills, including social survey techniques, social statistical sampling methods, social data analysis and computer-based mapping of social phenomena.  The curriculum offers a global perspective along with a broad view and thorough understanding of the universal human experience past, present, and future.  Two concentrations are available:

  • Sociology
  • Anthropology

The sociology concentration looks at real world problems impacting social life while teaching students how to help shape positive social change through diversity and insight into social issues and institutions.  The anthropology concentration emphasizes cultural practices in particular places and helps students gain investigative skills to decode simple, traditional, and non-industrialized societies and reconstruct past cultures based on archeological finds and data.
