The online Master of Education in Special Education program teaches techniques and skills required for working with students with special needs and disabilities. The curriculum includes classes in educational research, instructional approaches, theories, and teaching methods for behavioral disorders. Graduates are able to design and conduct research to understand and address issues in the field, collaborate with colleagues to design and implement professional development experiences, and develop and implement appropriate instructional and behavioral plans based on student assessment results.
- Transcripts verifying a four year undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Official score report from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller’s Analogy Test (MAT)
- Three letters of recommendation from professionals familiar with the applicant’s academic potential for graduate coursework
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 semester hours attempted accruing to the undergraduate degree or a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution
