Program Details

Florida Gulf Coast University offers an online Master of Education in Special Education. Students will learn techniques and skills required for working with students with special needs and disabilities. Curriculum includes classes in educational research, instructional approaches, theories, and teaching methods for behavioral disorders.


  • Transcripts verifying a four year undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Official score report from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Miller’s Analogy Test (MAT)
  • Three letters of recommendation from professionals familiar with the applicant’s academic potential for graduate coursework
  • A grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for the last 60 semester hours attempted accruing to the undergraduate degree or a graduate degree from a regionally accredited institution
