Program Details

The online Inpatient Medical Coding Specialist Certificate program is designed to prepare students for employment in the inpatient hospital insurance and/or billing environment or other health-care related business.  Courses teach students about medical terminology, ICD and CPT/Other coding systems as they relate to hospital billing and reimbursement methodology, accurate coding processes, and completing UB-04 claim forms, while also developing students’ skills that are applicable to the hospital billing field.  Graduates will be able to perform the necessary coding skills required in the hospital environment or can transfer their course credits to the Medical Office Administration program for Associate of Applied Science degrees.
