Program Details

Faith Evangelical College and Seminary in Tacoma, Washington offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in the concentration of Religion.  The degree focuses on providing students with the Bible-centered foundation of Christian studies, while introducing students to the important concepts and understandings of liberal arts concepts.  Students wishing to pursue impressionable roles in local communities and churches are welcome to enroll in the completely online degree program to further their education and serve for the greater good.

The Religion concentration develops an undergraduate to expand on their current knowledge, and delve into the intrinsic topics of Old and New Testaments, church history, and organizational theory.  In addition to the core Christian curriculum of spiritual formation, humility, service, and obedience, students will be exposed to a required set of general education courses and interdisciplinary electives.

The 180-credit-hour Bachelor’s degree program is comprised of 55 credit hours in general education courses that cover the arts, humanities, the natural and social sciences and literature.  The core religion and theology curriculum is 90 credit hours of courses and delves into the many cultures and religions of the world, seminary practices, history of the Christian faith, ethics, leadership in an organization, personal leadership skills, philosophy, religion comparison and others.  Students are permitted to enroll in 35 credit hours of interdisciplinary courses, to encourage a broad conceptualization of non-major courses.

The undergraduate program in Religious studies is designed for students preparing for leadership roles in ministry positions.  The formal education of earning a valuable degree will give many graduates the opportunity to provide service and guidance where any less of an education may not be allowed.  The focused curriculum ensures students and organizations the graduate’s comprehension of intrinsic Christian values and teachings, while still teaching the essential foundations of an advanced degree.

Graduates will demonstrate a potential for ministry, a faithful commitment to the Word of God, a heart for Christian service, and the personal discipline necessary to complete degree requirements.  Successful graduates can seek service and fulfill teaching roles as pastors, chaplains, missionaries, counselors, and church workers both local and abroad.
